The news came down this week. I have to become an adult...or at least I have to start dressing like one. My company has moved to a business casual (no jeans) dress code. Since I entered the business world, I've only worked in "casual dress" environments. Casual dress for Cops = jeans. My wardrobe consisted of nearly 30 pairs of jeans, with only a few other casual/dress pants...and various black/navy/red/dark grey tops and sweaters.

So, off I went on my shopping adventure this morning. In 3 hours, I amassed a completely revamped wardrobe. It was like "Queer Eye for the Straight....um, Gal". I added color (Carson), straight lines (Carson), layering (Carson), and more color (Carson). I included a few pairs of dress shoes, black suede and brown leather boots....even a handful of new earrings thrown in for fun.

The damage, you ask? Well, everything I bought was on sale....but still I could have paid my mortgage with the money I doled out today. However, the feeling of having a crisper, more sophisticated style within my wardrobe? Utterly priceless.
