Thanks for checking on me. Here I am, still. Not much better, not much worse. The doc yesterday completely danced a cha-cha around my question of "what is this?" I can only imagine it's that horrible flu, and the doc just doesn't want to scare me. On a side note, he believes the constant ache in my lower back is a bladder infection...my sample was "suspicious"...and has put me on antibiotics (Levaquin). I thought the dull pain was from pulled muscles from coughing.
From his smile-and-nod reaction at my mention of returning to work, I'm guessing that I'll not make a miraculous recovery by tomorrow evening. Damn, if I miss another 2 days, I'll be put on short-term disability. All this after my boss returned from her maternity leave last Monday - welcome back !! :-)
My brother saved the day and dropped off cat litter (damn if he didn't buy clay) and milk for me. My sister-in-law sent over some chicken noodle soup with him as well. They're good people, even if he doesn't comprehend the word "scoopable".
Snickers broke the horking rule this morning. I promptly sat her down and showed her the latest thermometer reading to remind her that I'm sick. No horking when I'm sick. None. Ever.
On a bright note, my niece called me tonight to check on me. Ahhh, that sweet little almost-teen. She also had good news - All A's and B's on her interim report. Smart as a whip, that one, just like her aunt.
I should eat something....it's just that nothing tastes right (almost tinny). I'm down 9 pounds since this adventure started. I may actually come out of this quite svelte !!
