Why TWC rules...
Embracing my inner storm-chaser, y’all know that I've been avidly watching The Weather Channel for updates on Frances. So far this morning, I've witnessed these two clips:
Some unidentified reporter from a FL affiliate in Juno Beach was broadcasting directly from the beach. The winds were blowing with gusts up to 70mph. He was clearly struggling against the wind as he explained how the foam forms once the waves hit the sand. All of the sudden, he decides to play and starts leaning back into the wind. The guy was nearing a 45 degree angle!! Of course, my wacky mind started humming that horrible MTV-generated-one-hit-wonder, "Lean Back".
Mike Seidel in West Palm Beach crossed paths with Al Roker. Since Al got his start in Cleveland, so many years ago, he's always been a favorite of mine. Al was literally holding Mike up against the wind by hugging him. Thankfully, Al hasn’t lost all his weight. The two cracked jokes left and right – seemingly drunk with excitement. They were razzing other TWC reporters. It was some of the funniest reporting I’ve seen in a long time.
The most amusing part of it all….the talking heads back in the studio kept their stone faces, nodding along with the reporting via split-screen. These two are people with whom I have no desire to party…give me those wacky in-the-field reporters. I highly suggest watching out for these reporting clips on the web site.
Be safe, my Sunshine State friends !!
