Watch out Boys, It's Valentine's Day and I'm Radioactive

I had my Sestamibi Scan today.

Good news - they didn't identify a tumor on my parathyroids nor my thyroid.

Bad news - they didn't identify a tumor on my parathyroids, so the surgery next week will pretty much be a search and rescue luck-of-the-draw mission for the surgeon. Sure, I'm looking forward to a lovely 4-inch scar across my neck. Just another "beauty mark" on my already beautiful body.

I'm really having second thoughts about the entire surgery adventure. I'm meeting with the surgeon on Friday to discuss....but the idea of him going into the surgery blind in search of the correctly WHACKED parathyroid does not thrill me at all. If I was even feeling remotely well these days, I'd stop the surgery...but I've barely been able to function through a normal workday without falling asleep on my desk. Has anyone ever told a doctor "NO" when they're recommending a procedure with which you've not been comfortable?
