Holiday Shopping Status - 60% Complete

Amazon is my best friend this time of year. While I was quite despondent yesterday since I’d not even started holiday shopping, Amazon walked me through my purchases like a guide dog for the blind.

I enjoy giving holiday items as gifts. Amazon showed me this as an option. A wonderful little piece for coworkers and hostess gifts – I picked up 10 of them. Throw in a bushel of Godiva 5-piece holiday truffles, and I’ve got my small gifts purchased.

My best friend loves to bake cakes. Nearly each week, a cake awaits unexpected guests. She somehow finagles boxed cake mixes into amazingly scrumptious desserts. This will be beautiful on her countertop throughout the season. I’m also including the bowl mentioned above, as she consistently offers a fresh fruit salad during all of her gatherings.

Here's my gift from Santa – including this and that for a larger set. I’m in the midst of reorganizing my home and dumping my current nonstick cookware was tops on my agenda. For added measure…I purchased a second set of these. The first set was purchased last month – and glass always beats plastic in the game of rock, paper, scissors. Hallelujah, all my plastic storage is being tossed as well.

The best thing about Amazon – free shipping on all items, with the latest arrival projected as December 15th. Regularly, I receieve their free shipping items by the 3rd business day from purchase - so I imagine the 12/15 projection is to cover their ass.

What’s left on the shopping list, you ask?
1. Toys for the kiddies – if their moms/dads would just get back to me on exactly what they want. Word to their parents - Don't make me get them Chuck E. Cheese gift cards because you KNOW you'll have to endure the visit yourself. SEND THE LISTS NOW !!
2. Clothing for my14-year old niece...whose tender age prevents me from having any shopping success if it's done without her.
3. I also need gifts for the husbands of a few of my friends – I’m taking suggestions, if you care to chime in. Normally, I pick them up something at the local wine/liquor store...but different ideas would be a godsend.

Hoping all your shopping efforts are going as well as mine....Happy Holidays !!
