a MUST SEE movie

Caught the movie last night. I belly-laughed-until-I-cried continually for the first hour of this movie. The uproarious cackling of those around me actually drowned my own laughter out. I wouldn’t be wrong to assume the ENTIRE theater audience will be purchasing the DVD two-fold…one for their own collection and one as a holiday gift for a loved one.
Gratuitous nudity?
Absolutely – but is mainly confined to one scene which shows the never-ending list of all the women the crashers have had.
F-bombs?
Too many to count; yet dropped in a way where they FIT into the conversation.
Overt sexual situations?
You betcha !!
Average age of the theater audience during my viewing?
40; with more than a handful of silver-haired members enjoying the movie as much as I did.
There are too many hysterical moments during this comedy to note. They are so funny, and hit the audience at such a speed that you’re unable to calm your laughter from the last joke before the next one drops. If you like Vince Vaughn, you’ll adore this movie. While the writing is excellent – it’s apparent that Vaughn (with Wilson) ad-libs a good majority of this film’s funniest quotes. If you enjoyed Animal House, Meet the Parents, Something About Mary, or Old School - this film will soon join those as a favorite.
The casting of the supporting roles was exceptional. Bradley Cooper plays the perfect I’m-a-smarmy-ass-and-you’re-going-to-hate-me boyfriend/fiancée to Rachel McAdams’ character; in a role completely out of his normal-nice-guy characters. Isla Fisher, as the crazy-bridesmaid/sister, should land an MTV-movie award in her supporting role. And, what is there to say about Christopher Walken….he’s just Christopher Walken. Ellen Albertini Dow's brief appearances as Grandma Mary are classic.
My only critique of the movie is that the second hour takes a turn to the cliched romantic comedy. Still, there is still exceptional comedy throughout. In the summer of re-make hell at the box office, this was finally a movie worth every penny of the $10 ticket price.
