Do you know what this weekend is? This is the annual weekend that I hole up inside my home and watch endless hours of TV coverage of the US Figure Skating Championship. Sure, it's live TV coverage has fallen off over the past few years. We used to have Thursday and Friday night coverage, followed by the big finale of the Ladies finals LIVE on Saturday primetime. The judging controversy is probably the catalyst in the downward spiral of TV coverage. Still, I like to have this "me" weekend every year to wrap up in a throw in front of my TV and watch enough skating to make even me sick of it by the time that Sunday's over.

What's wrong with this year? My local station has decided to pre-empt the ABC's LIVE national coverage tonight (8-11pm for those who can actually watch) in favor of broadcasting the Lou Rawls telethon. A telethon? In primetime? Over a nationally broadcast sporting event? I hate you WEWS - I hate you with the fire of 1,000 suns. Scott Hamilton spits upon you, I'm sure. He bases his annual cancer charity event in Cleveland, mainly because of the city's huge fan base. His Stars on Ice shows sold out for over 10 years in this city, while he was performing. Bad choice, WEWS. I'd say that I'm boycotting you...but Alias is too much to sacrifice just to prove a point.

Dinner and drinks, tonight? Anyone?? We could get together and celebrate KatJam's birthday. (Happy Birthday, Kat)
