Japanese replace boyfriends with pillows

TOKYO, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Young Japanese women are signing onto a waiting list for an ideal sleeping partner that weighs just 39 pounds and has no bad habits, Ananova.com reported.
Marketers at IOL call their new pillow the boyfriend model, as each comes with two shirts -- one in pink, the other in blue --that the dutiful girlfriend should keep clean and pressed, and perhaps scented with a nice masculine cologne.
One of the models also has an alarm feature allowng the boyfriend to gently shake the woman when it's time to awaken. The designers say it's an ideal sleeping partner because it doesn't snore, steal the blankets or even sleep with anyone else -- unless the girlfriend allows it.

A spokesman for the manufacturer said the pillow has been so successful, women have lined up around the block, and a waiting list had to be drawn up.

There are plans being developed to export the boyfriend pillow within months.

My boyfriend pillow and I will be registering at Neiman-Marcus, Pier 1, and Target. I believe I'll greatly enjoy his "gentle shaking"....yeah, I'll be using that feature as an alarm clock.....ha !!
