Well, it's a start...

There was money left over in the corporate pot this year...and "Santa", the Senior VP, was feeling generous. I was bestowed $4000 of the pot via a salary increase, effective immediately. Supposedly, this nod doesn't affect my annual review and/or promised promotion - it was simply an adjustment for my contribution over the past few months. Or could it be that "Santa" really wants me to behave in front of Santa's boss, the Prez, during our Tampa summit on Thursday?

While I'm grateful for any increase during a time when many around me in Cleveland are losing their jobs...given the $145K in annual salaries the company saved by not replacing the two people whose responsibilities I now cover, I'm thinking I pulled the short straw on the deal.
