"This house is clean...."
Surgery went better than expected. My parathyroid ended up being attached to (not inside) the right lobe of my thyroid. The surgeon was able to detach the tumor (parathyroid) and save the entire thyroid. (He ROCKS.)
Funny fact - my PTH (parthyroid hormone level) taken immediately prior to surgery was 3,000. When it was discovered as "high" a few months back - it was 200. When the PTH was tested last night (4 hours after surgery) it was 14. Yeah, them's great results in my opinion.
The tumor itself weighed 2.5 grams. Normal adenomas are .25 grams. When I grow them, I grow them large !!
As of this morning's blood test, my blood calcium has returned to normal. So normal, in fact, that the doctor has prescribed calcium tablets three times a day. Time to build those bones back up !!
